Communication assistant for sustainable tourism programmes
4-6 months’ internship at the Foundation for Environmental Education
The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) is looking for a communication intern that would like to work with our tourism-related environmental programmes, Blue Flag and Green Key, for 4-6 months from 16 January 2023 (exact dates can be flexible). The main areas of work will be communication and PR as well as tasks related to the dissemination of best practices of the two programmes.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
1. Communication and PR
Composing of news articles for website and social media
Development of newsletters
Social Media maintenance
Development of PR materials for the programme (e.g. online brochures, infographics, animated videos)
2. Support in the applicant evaluation
Assisting in the evaluation of Green Key and Blue Flag applicants
3. Managing the dissemination of best practices
Maintaining and extending the best-practice databases of the two programmes
Maintaining, extending and developing material for the Green Key online resource centre
Communicating with the FEE member organisations and other international partners to gather information and materials for the best practice databases of the two programmes
4. Webinars and courses
Support in the development of webinars and courses
5. Administrative tasks
Taking care of ad-hoc administrative tasks such as database maintenance, response to general requests, taking care of the post
Other office-related tasks

Terms and conditions:
Unpaid internship for a duration of a minimum of four months. It is encouraged that the internship is part of the internship requirements for students in the sustainability or tourism field, but it can also be part of a post-studies internship.
Unless the COVID-19 situation in Denmark prevents it, it is expected that the intern works from the FEE Head Office in Copenhagen, and the intern will follow the same conditions as the FEE Head Office staff (as recommended by the Danish Health Authorities).
The intern will have to work 37 hours a week, including a 30 min lunch break.

Additional information if the intern will be working from the FEE Head Office:
The intern has to be an EU/EEA/Nordic citizen or have a valid work permit in Denmark.
The intern will be working from the FEE Head Office, the intern is responsible for own accommodation and transport between home and FEE Head Office (on request, the FEE Head Office can provide a free bike for the duration of the internship and assist in the search for accommodation)
The intern should be aware of and make all necessary arrangements according to Danish law and regulations regarding residence permits (see here) and social security number (CPR) in Denmark (see here).

Required skills and experience
Fluent in written and spoken English
The applicant should have a background or work experience in sustainable tourism, sustainable development, or other sustainability-related fields of work
Precise and organised way of working
Proficient user of Microsoft Office package
Experience with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, preferably beyond the private level
Experience with design programmes such as Canva and Adobe software is preferred
Experience with online course and webinar platforms is an advantage
Capability of working in a team as well as independently
Comfortable working in a multicultural environment

Blue Flag is, in 2022, awarded to more than 5,000 beaches, boats and marinas in 50 countries worldwide. Furthermore, other countries in various regions around the world are working on implementing Blue Flag.
